Spirit Before Body, Body Before Union, Union in the Second Week

Bereshith (Genesis) 1–2 • Yôbêl (Jubilees) 2:14–16; 3:1–14

7.1 — DAY 6 — PART 2— INTRODUCTION — THE SPIRITS OF MAN AND WOMAN CREATED ON DAY 1

Yôbêl (Jubilees) 2 reveals that all spirits connected to creation were brought into existence on Day 1: angels, the spirits governing times and elements, the spirits of living creatures, and the spirits of man and woman.

Therefore, Adam’s spirit existed from Day 1, Eve’s spirit also existed from Day 1, and humanity began spiritually before humanity existed physically.

This explains Yahuah’s statement:
“Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness.” — Bereshith 1:26
The likeness (spiritual identity) already existed. Day 6 would give physical form to what had been created in the invisible realm.

Thus Day 1 is the origin of all spirits, and Day 6 is the embodiment of humanity.

7.2 — WORK 22 — THE FORMING OF ADAM FROM THE DUST

Bereshith 2:7
“And Yahuah Êlôhîym formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

At this moment, the spirit created on Day 1 enters the body formed on Day 6 through Yahuah’s breath. Adam becomes a nephesh chay, a living soul — spirit and body united in a way no creature of Day 5 or Day 6 possesses.

7.3 — YAHUAH GRANTS DOMINION TO HUMANITY

Yôbêl 2:14
“A man and a woman He created them, and gave him dominion over all that is upon the earth…”

This reveals that Adam and Eve share the same purpose on Day 6, their destinies were established before Adam awoke, dominion is granted before their meeting, and both already exist in spirit.

Their dominion includes earth, sea, sky, beasts, cattle, creeping things, and every living creature. Humanity is appointed rulers under Yahuah — not participants in creation, but governors of it.

7.4 — THE DEEP SLEEP OF ADAM AND THE CREATION OF EVE

Yôbêl 3:5
“Yahuah our Êlôhîym caused a deep sleep to fall upon him… and He took one rib… and He built the woman.”

This deep sleep is a divine operation. Yahuah builds the woman (וַיִּבֶן), a term of architectural design. Eve is fully created on Day 6. She becomes a living soul, a complete being, the physical embodiment of her spirit created on Day 1.

But here is the crucial reality: Adam does not see her, Adam does not know she exists, she is not brought to him, and they do not meet on Day 6. Genesis compresses events; Jubilees restores the true order.

7.5 — ADAM AWAKENS ON DAY 6 UNAWARE OF EVE’S EXISTENCE

When Adam awakens, he is alone. He believes he is the only human. He has no knowledge of Eve. Yahuah keeps her hidden.

Adam begins the rest of Day 6 without his companion.

Why? Because Yahuah is preparing him to learn solitude, to observe creation, to recognize companionship, to understand his need, and to be emotionally ready for Eve.

This explains Bereshith 2:20:
“but for Âdâm there was not found a help meet for him.”

This refers not to Day 6 — but to the first week.

7.6 — THE FIRST WEEK: ADAM NAMES THE ANIMALS AND FEELS ALONE

This is the key detail: the naming of animals occurs after Eve is created, but before she is revealed. Adam sees the pairs among creation. He senses longing and incompleteness. He realizes he has no companion.

During this week Adam observes flocks and herds, sees birds and beasts in male–female pairs, and witnesses companionship throughout creation.

Thus Adam understands loneliness — not because Eve does not exist, but because she has not yet been presented. This is divine teaching by experience.

7.7 — THE SECOND WEEK: EVE IS BROUGHT TO ADAM

Yôbêl 3:6
“…and He brought her to him…”

This event occurs at the start of the second week, not on Day 6.

At this moment Adam sees Eve for the first time. He recognizes her origin. He names her “iyshshah.” He declares “bone of my bones, flesh of my flesh.” The covenant of companionship begins. The union between man and woman is established.

Adam could not have said “now this is bone of my bones” unless he had lived long enough to feel the absence of companionship.

The delayed revelation produces longing, recognition, love, gratitude, and covenant meaning. Genesis gives the thematic summary; Jubilees gives the chronological detail.

7.8 — HUMANITY COMPLETES THE 22 KINDS

Yôbêl 2:15
“These four kinds He created on the sixth day… And there were altogether twenty-two kinds.”

The four kinds of Day 6 are beasts of the earth, cattle, creeping things, and man and woman.

Humanity completes the 22 works of creation — corresponding to the 22 Hebrew letters, the 22 paths of divine order, and the 22 foundational creative acts. Man and woman are the crowning kind of creation.

7.9 — YAHUAH FINISHES ALL HIS WORK

Yôbêl 2:16
“And He finished all His work on the sixth day…”

This includes spirits created on Day 1, realms formed on Days 1–3, luminaries on Day 4, creatures on Days 5–6, Adam’s physical body, Eve’s physical body, the infusion of spirit into flesh, Adam’s awakening, Eve’s hidden preparation, the emotional shaping of Adam, and the future presentation that begins Week 2.

Creation is finished — but revelation unfolds in sequence.

7.10 — DAY 6 — PART 2 — FINAL SUMMARY

Day 6 (Part 2) establishes the divine order of humanity: the spirits of man and woman created on Day 1; Adam’s body formed from dust on Day 6; Yahuah’s breath making him a living soul; dominion over creation granted; Adam placed into deep sleep; Eve built from Adam’s rib; Eve becoming a living being on the same day; Adam awakening but not seeing her; Eve remaining hidden during the first week; Adam naming the animals and feeling his solitude; at the start of Week 2, Yahuah bringing Eve to Adam; Adam recognizing, naming, and receiving her; humanity completing the 22 kinds; and all creation-work being finished.

This chapter restores the precise chronology given to Mosheh and preserved in Jubilees.
